Welcome

VOLUNTARY WATER USE RESTRICTIONS

DUE TO RECENT RAIN EVENTS THE NEW LONDON-SPRINGFIELD WATER PRECINCT IS LIFTING THE MANDATORY WATER BAN AND MOVING TO

VOLUNTARY WATER USE RESTRICTIONS

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

We are simply asking people to work with us to conserve one of our most precious resources.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Water lawn and plants only as they require, when the grass is dull green and you can see your footprint as you walk on it. Water only dry areas and consider changing your landscape to include less grass, more mulch and native plants. Watering by hand allows you to place the water where needed, but if you need to water a large area use soaker hoses and timers. Water early mornings for best results.

Wash vehicles with a sponge and bucket using the hose for rinsing only.

Cover swimming pools when not in use to prevent evaporation loss and lower the water level to avoid loss due to splashing and overflow.

Sweep driveways, walks and decks with a broom instead of hosing them off.

Check appliances that use water for leaks.

To obtain more information on how you can help or to answer any questions you have contact Rhonda  Monday - Thursday between 8am and noon at the Precinct Office.
